Quebec Announces Mandatory Mask Wearing in Indoor Public Places



LOCAL NEWS - JULY 13, 2020 - QUEBEC ANNOUNCES MANDATORY WEARING OF A MASK INDOORS IN ALL PUBLIC PLACES ACROSS THE PROVINCE ON JULY 18TH


At the daily press brief this afternoon, Premier François Legault announced the mandatory wearing of masks in all indoor public places. This new government requirement will begin on Saturday July 18th for all public businesses across the province.


WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:


  • Beginning on July 18th, the mandatory requirement is for individuals aged 12 and over (specific medical conditions will be exempt from mandatory requirement)

  • ​The requirement is for all indoor public businesses

  • Business owners will be responsible to enforce the rules in their establishment

  • Fines of $400 to $6000 to be handed to businesses who are not in compliance with this mandatory requirement
