On Sunday September 17th the annual Terry Fox committee of Lourdes de Blanc Sablon welcomed over 100 walkers and bikers who participated in the Terry Fox run. The goal for online donations for the terry fox run had reached the set goal of $500 and surpassed, on Sunday the committee collected over $1300. The committee is not finished yet, there will be another walk taking place on Friday September 22nd for the students of Scheffer school, if you did not have an opportunity to participate on Sunday you are invited to join the students on their walk. If you have not donated you still have time to follow the link on Brenda Joncas Facebook.
This walk has been going on for over 30 years in this region and that thanks to volunteers especially Doris Jones, Harvey Burke, Suzanne Gémus and Brenda Joncas. They will pass on the torch to the younger population and hope the next generation is going to keep it up.
The Terry Fox committee would like to remind everyone that 100% of all donations are used for cancer research.
